Most first drafts start three paragraphs before the real beginning. The fix is mechanical: write the whole thing, then delete everything above the first sentence that says something.

Give every paragraph one job. If a paragraph explains a point and also introduces the next one, split it. Readers skim, and a paragraph with a single idea survives skimming.

End on something the reader can do today. A closing thought is nice. A closing action gets shared.

A publishing schedule fails when it depends on inspiration. Ours runs on a loop instead: Monday we pick the topic, Wednesday we draft, Thursday we edit, Friday it goes out.

The topic list is kept a month ahead, so nobody starts a week from a blank page. Anything half-formed goes into the list rather than into a draft.

Editing is a separate day on purpose. Reading your own words after a night away catches more than any checklist.

How we run a weekly publishing rhythm

We started with notifications. Everything that was not a person waiting on an answer got turned off, and the day immediately got longer.

Next came the shared inbox. One place for incoming requests meant no more work arriving through four channels at once, and it made the actual volume visible for the first time.

The last change was the hardest: a real stop time. Work expands to fill the space it is given, so we stopped giving it the evening.
